For 2006 as members of Visit
Britain we have been conferred with
their highest accreditation for country house
accommodation - five
diamonds plus the coveted Gold Award. As members
of the AA we have
their highest ranking of five red diamonds and
top food awards with a Red
Rosette for Fine Food. Similarly, as past members of
the RAC from 2002 - 2006 we have their
highest rating of five diamonds, plus the exclusive
Little Gem Award of
which there were only 22 in the Country. In addition,
the RAC
presented us with Two Dining Awards for our restaurant,
a Sparkling
Diamond Award for our housekeeping and a Warm
Welcome Award for our
hospitality in 2002 - 2006.
As
a finalist in the English Tourist Council's "England
for Excellence
Awards" in 2004, Winners in Cumbria Tourist
Board's "Awards for
Excellence", RAC "Little Gem" and
AA "Five Red Diamonds" together with
an AA "Red Rosette for Fine Cuisine",
Hazel Bank ranks amongst the top
Country Houses in its category in England and probably
has more awards
than any other establishment if its kind.
For 2007, the hospitality industry faces a major change in the grading structure.
Guest accommodation will now be conferred with "Stars" and no longer "Diamonds". Additionally,
the RAC is withdrawing from the industry. So far we have achieved a remarkable 5 stars. Guest
house from the AA with a quality merit score of 93%.
