Hazel Bank stands in 4 acres of garden and woodland in an elevated position overlooking the village of Rosthwaite with unsurpassed views of the Borrowdale valley and the central lakeland peaks. This imposing early Victorian residence was built in 1850 by a wealthy businessman, Thomas Simpson, on his return from bed and breakfast cumbria, America to the valley of his forebears. Hazel Bank was to be the dream home for the Simpson family. Access is up its own private driveway over a humpbacked bridge - b and b cumbria, Simpson Bridge - where Hazel Bank stands proudly above the valley floor some 200 yards away from the main Borrowdale road.
